The Science of Cryolipolysis
CoolSculpting is built on a discovery called cryolipolysis: fat cells are more vulnerable to cold than the surrounding skin, nerves, and muscle. By cooling a targeted area to a precise temperature, the Elite applicator injures fat cells without harming anything else around them.
Those injured cells undergo apoptosis — a natural, programmed cell death. Over the following 8 to 12 weeks, your lymphatic system gradually clears the dead cells, and the treated area slims. Because the cells are permanently eliminated rather than shrunk, the result is lasting. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons recognizes cryolipolysis as an established, well-studied approach to non-surgical fat reduction.
